Heartell Press is the design and manufacturing studio of artist and printmaker Rachel Kroh. Their letterpress greeting cards and art prints feature Rachel's hand-carved woodblock designs. Originally located in the Gowanus neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, Heartell relocated in August 2016 to Fort Wayne, Indiana. Heartell Press letterpress greeting cards are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper using an antique press with hand-carved wood blocks. The Indigo printed cards and prints are designed in the same way with hand-carved blocks and then reproduced on recycled paper using an HP Indigo (digital offset) press to create rich, matte images. They occasionally use photopolymer plates (made from hand-drawn files) to add additional colors to woodblock designs.
