Pentimenti Zine by Adelaide Blair
“This book is a personal exploration of how much information to give people regarding any given work. I want to tell them everything, but am I trying to guide the viewer too much or just adding another data point for them?
“I like the idea of art being a mysterious transmission from another state of mind. I’m trying so hard to tell you what it was like in the other place (other time) but can never give you enough data to crowd out your own interpretation/reconstruction of what I’m saying. Your relationship with the work is never going to be the same as mine no matter how much information I give you. So why not try to go too far? I don’t know that I can ever get there.” - Adelaide Blair
